Energy Quest Foundation, an economic and social impact organization advancing energy development with a strong focus on clean energy and sustainable transport across Africa, has announced a strategic partnership with EcoSecurities, a leading global climate solutions company leveraging nature, technology, and finance to drive decarbonization. Together, they aim to accelerate the scale-up of electric mobility solutions throughout sub-Saharan Africa by harnessing the power of carbon and climate finance to unlock new investment opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
What This Partnership Means
This collaboration is focused on helping African countries build out electric mobility solutions like e-buses, electric motorcycles, charging stations, and more. But here is the key—it is not just about launching new technology. It is about unlocking the funding and support these projects need to grow and last.
Through this partnership, we will work on:
- Supporting electric mobility projects that are ready for investment.
- Helping build capacity and strong project pipelines.
- Using carbon and climate finance to make these solutions sustainable and scalable.
For us at Energy Quest, this is about more than lowering emissions. It is about creating real jobs, improving public health, and driving inclusive economic growth across the continent.
Why Now
Transport emissions in Africa are rising fast. In fact, they currently account for nearly a quarter of all energy-related emissions on the continent. In Ghana alone, transport is responsible for about 17 percent of national greenhouse gas emissions.
If we keep going as we are, these numbers are only going to grow. But with the right investments in electric mobility, we can flip the script—moving toward cleaner air, more efficient transport, and real progress for people and the planet.
“We are proud to partner with EcoSecurities to unlock the finance needed to move electric mobility forward in Africa,” said Lesley Arthur, Founder and Director of Energy Quest Foundation.
“Through our work and platforms like the ERA Conference, we are bringing together government leaders, investors, innovators, and development partners to make clean transport a reality. This is about action, not just ideas.”
And we agree. It is time to scale what works and support the people building solutions that are good for the environment and for local communities.
What Is Next
You will hear a lot more about this partnership at the ERA E-Mobility Conference 2025, happening on October 9 and 10 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. This year’s theme is Clean Green Investment, and it could not be more timely.
We are creating space for important conversations—around investment, technology, policy, and partnerships—to help shape the future of clean mobility in Africa.
Want to Get Involved?
If you are an investor, innovator, policymaker, or just passionate about building a cleaner future, we would love to connect. We believe Africa can lead the clean transport revolution, and it starts with all of us coming together.
